4:50 - Time for school. Drop stuff at FBA lobby, contemplate how cool it is to be the only student at school when the sky is still so dark and the air is really cold. Exercise in futility: Trying to drag a foldable bed full of props from the SN office to the lobby. Set phone alarm to 5:15 to know when to start yelling at people for being late.
5:00 - See MC at the lobby from afar. Ask for help. Effort is futile no more.
5:05 - Robert, Mela and Mogz are here! Set up technical, go!
5:15 - Our ranks begin to form. Barely. Some people escape getting yelled at by a minute.
5:20-ish - Dry-run-for-the-dry-run-even-when-there's-hardly-anyone-around-yet, GO!
5:20-7 - FRUSTRATION! (Man, i wish that word had as many syllables as confrontation.) Frus-t-ration. That's better. Weeee.
7-10:30 - Feel like throwing up the single slice of bread you had for breakfast. Experience something like a very quiet and prolonged panic attack.
10:30-11:50 (maybe) - Run around in a frenzy about missing props, One Day More!, and putting dirt on people's faces and clothes. (Faulty parallelism. Hah.)
11:50 - 12 - Customary pre-anything pep talk. Blockings! Extend! Exaggerate! Blaaah! Pray and cry at the same time. Why cry? No idea. Nerves and fear maybe. Hugs and Happiness!
12 - 1:40-ish - More than an hour of facepalming, eyebrow raising, choir supporting, and applauding later... Judgement time was over. Comments! Good for a student production. "For a student production" is a euphemism for "not good enough", therefore our musical play is to be re-directed (in some bits), de-props-ified, multimedia presentation supported, rehearsed every double period English class, and polished, polished polished. I can't wait.
Les Miserables: A Musical performed by ZdN 07-08 is slated for presentation January 2008.
Le Directeur thanks everyone. You have no idea what this all means to me.
